• “It is only shallow people who do not judge by appearance.”
    ~Oscar Wilde

I was raised believing “smile, keep your up high and always put you best face on”. We are flooded with products to loose weight look younger and the new age of plastic surgery. It is constantly trying to improve what we think we are not, The other side is not caring, eating what you want and believing substance is the only thing that is important.

What if we take the middle and say yes the way we look is important but not everything. Neatness, healthy teeth, dressing well and paying attention to details absolutely make a difference. If you go into a corporation and you’re wearing jeans instead of a professional look it will make a difference. I believe when you are on the phone or working on your blog we have a different attitude when we feel and look attractive. We know we come across better when we are in the mood of lightness rather then in the mood of anger. Appearance is the non-verbal message that one sees first even through we may be writing or on the phone.

If you were selling your car or your home would you have it look the best it could so it would be attractive and appealing. Appearance is important as long as it isn’t your obsession but your tool to present yourself in the best of light. What does your appearance say about you? How do you want people to see you?

I suggest you begin to pay attention to the image you want to project. It’s okay to be conscious of your appearance and put your best foot forward. Ask yourself the question “How do I want to show up” What do I want my appearance to say about me? How do I feel when I look in the mirror and I love what I’m seeing? You can do that everyday just by paying attention to your appearance. It is the small details that make the difference.
